Acciona Energy opens fourth wind farm in Canada

The Spanish turbine manufacturer Acciona Energy opens his fourth wind farm in the province of New Brunswick, Canada.

Total investment cost of this project was €82 million.

The wind farm named Lamèque has 45 MW and consists of 30 Acciona 1.5 MW turbines.

The power will be purchased under a long-term contract by the distribution company NB Power.

The wind farm will ensure 8,000 Canadian homes with renewable energy.

Acciona still holds three wind farms in Canada: Magrath and Chin Chute, each with a capacity of 30 MW, in Alberta province and Ripley with 76 MW in Ontario.

These three projects are in joint ownership with Canadian partners Suncor and Enbridge.

This new wind farm is wholly owned by the company.
